Attempting to keep a recruiting class together at the last minute while starting his head coaching career, East Carolina head coach Scottie Montgomery landed a solid 2016 recruiting class. He ended up with a couple of last minute flips that added talent on both sides of the ball.

- Cortez Herrin, OG (Saluda HS): The 6-4, 320 pound offensive guard out of Saluda, South Carolina is one of two early enrollees in this signing class. Herrin is a three-star recruit and the #25 player in South Carolina.
