Hansen was recruited as a 4-star, pro-style QB by Oklahoma. Upon red-shirting his freshman year, he transferred to Butler CC after a position battle with Baker Mayfield and Trevor Knight. Hansen's high school offer sheet included Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Missouri, Auburn, Arizona State and Arkansas.
