Those expecting the Houston Cougars’ recruiting to fall off following the departure of Tom Herman may have spoken too soon. Already ranked at the top of the AAC in recruiting, the Coogs added one of the most highly-recruited quarterbacks in the nation to their future roster this weekend. Chance Amie, a 6’4”, 191 pound dual-threat passer out of Tyler, Texas, committed to Houston this past weekend over 15 different scholarship offers from across the country. He announced his commitment on his father’s birthday in a touching gesture.
The three-star talent made his final decision between the Coogs and Syracuse, ultimately siding with the in-state finalist.
