The Conference USA Power Rankings are never a prediction for how things will end up, but rather a snapshot of how teams look at the moment. At the moment, I think it’s safe to say there are four clear tiers in C-USA this season.
Tier 1: UAB, Louisiana Tech, North Texas. Tier 2: FIU, Middle Tennessee, Marshall, Southern Miss. Tier 3: FAU, Charlotte, UTSA. Tier 4: ODU, WKU, Rice, UTEP. The gap between tiers 1 and 4 is huge. No one in tier 3 is going to win C-USA but each are capable of pulling off an upset against teams in tier 1 and 2.
