Fans were treated to a vintage Georgia Southern Eagles game Saturday night: Tons of rushing yards in an easy 48-31 win over New Mexico State, and almost no reason to watch beyond the third quarter.
It’s a good thing too, because in just five days it’s time for the game of the year against the dreaded Appalachian State Mountaineers.
Georgia Southern is bowl eligible at 6-1 (3-0 in Sun Belt play), so we’ll get to see the Eagles play during the holidays for the first time in three years. At the beginning of the season going bowling looked like a major goal (my preseason prediction was 6-6).
