Per Football Scoop, Charlotte 49ers has fired head coach Brad Lambert after six seasons. Brad Lambert went 21-49 during his time in the Queen City and oversaw Charlotte’s transition into a FCS football program in 2013, and eventually an FBS program in 2015 when the 49ers became a member of Conference USA.
Lambert’s dismissal is long overdue for a program with a ton of potential. Lambert never finished with a winning record during his tenure. Two years as an FCS Independent, Charlotte had back-to-back 5-6 seasons. Charlotte’s best records during the Lambert era as a member of C-USA was 2016 and this season, as the 49ers finished 4-8 with a 3-5 record in conference play.
