Columbus Crew SC head coach Gregg Berhalter confirmed that midfielder Wil Trapp suffered a concussion following the 2-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes.
In the 12th minute, Trapp collided with San Jose defender Shaun Francis. Both stayed down, but Trapp was immediately substituted and replaced by Dilly Duka and taken straight to the locker room. He was initially stunned by the collision, but walked off under his own power.
"I think what initially happened, it wasn’t good, and as time went on and as he walked off the field he started to get clarity and feeling much better," Berhalter said in the postgame press conference.
