A routine corner kick in the 53rd minute by New York City FC in last night’s 3-3 draw with Columbus Crew SC could have a large impact on the Black & Gold’s season.
Following the service by NYCFC’s Andrea Pirlo, Crew SC left back Waylon Francis dropped into a heap in the Columbus penalty area. Goalkeeper Steve Clark indicated to the bench rather quickly and athletic trainer Craig Devine worked on Francis for a minute before assisting him directly to the locker room.
Following the match, head coach Gregg Berhalter said Francis suffered a dislocated shoulder.
