Trapp, USMNT fall to England at Wembley

The United States Men’s National Team paid the price for a rough first half stretch and was downed 3-0 by England at the legendary Wembley Stadium in London in a friendly match that celebrated the farewell of D.C. United’s forward Wayne Rooney to the Three Lions’ uniform. Jesse Lingard, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Callum Wilson scored for the English Team.

The match was the 10th for Columbus Crew SC captain Wil Trapp, who started at central midfield, for the Stars & Stripes. The midfielder has played in eight matches for the USMNT in 2018 – wearing the armband in each of them — and tied with forwards Bobby Wood and Tim Weah for the team lead on the season.
