The Columbus Crew’s new home is getting ever so close to being complete. Thursday afternoon on Earth Day, the club announced the sod installation at New Crew Stadium is complete, a major step for the most important part of the new home for the Crew.
The field is implemented with new SubAir Sport technology to have hydronic undersoil heating and grow lights to keep the pitch in top condition. This technology is also used at the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, the home of The Memorial Tournament. The pitch is another element of New Crew Stadium that makes it one of the most advanced in all of Major League Soccer.
