The Columbus Crew officially announced the hiring of Wilfried Nancy as the club’s new head coach in early December, but Nancy won’t be leading the Black & Gold alone. On Tuesday, the Crew made official Nancy’s coaching staff in Columbus, a group that has been together already during the first week of preseason, which began on Jan. 9.
Serving as assistant coaches under Nancy are Kwame Ampadu and Yoann Damet. Phil Boerger, who previously worked with reserve team Crew 2, will be the first team’s new goalkeeper coach, while Jules Gueguen will be the fitness coach in addition to an assistant and Maxime Chalier is the team’s new video performance coach.
