Soccer notebook | Cunningham, Chastain among Hall of Fame nominees

The National Soccer Hall of Fame announced that former Crew SC forward Jeff Cunningham, current Crew SC assistant coach Josh Wolff and former U.S. women’s team star Brandi Chastain are among the first-time candidates eligible for induction this year.

Cunningham played 14 seasons in Major League Soccer from 1998-2012, including for the Crew from 1998 to 2004 and in 2011. He was the league’s all-time leading goal-scorer (134) when he retired in 2012, since surpassed by Landon Donovan (144).

The Jamaican-born striker also played 12 games for the U.S. national team.
