RFK Stadium has historically been a house of horrors for Crew SC. Now, with its days numbered and a new stadium on the way for D.C. United, the crumbling fortress in Washington rose up again to deliver a stinging blow to an original rival.
Needing a win to keep its flagging postseason hopes alive, the Crew did little with a significant first-half possession advantage Wednesday night and allowed three late goals in a 3-0 loss.
Two of the goals came after coach Gregg Berhalter removed left back Corey Ashe for forward Adam Jahn in an attempt to generate more offense.
