Ohio Stadium has played host to some storied teams in its rich history.
The venue adds to its legacy tonight with an appearance from a world soccer giant.
Real Madrid, the 11-time champion of European club soccer, faces Paris Saint-Germain in an exhibition match that is part of the International Champions Cup.
Organizers hope the contest will draw 70,000 to 80,000 fans. The largest crowd ever to witness a soccer game in Columbus is 31,550 in an MLS-regular-season match featuring Crew SC on Sept 15, 1996, at Ohio Stadium.
“It’s great for the city that we can hold such big international events,” Crew coach Gregg Berhalter said.
