The Crew made the biggest trade in its 21-year history this morning, sending unsettled star striker Kei Kamara to the New England Revolution in exchange for a lengthy list of resources in return.
The Crew will receive a combination of targeted allocation money, general allocation money, a first-round draft pick in 2017, a second-round pick in 2018, an international roster spot and a percentage of any future transfer money paid for Kamara if he leaves to play outside of MLS.
The Revolution will receive a prolific scorer. Kamara, 31, tied for the league lead with 22 goals last season when he was named a finalist for the league’s MVP award and helped lead the Crew to an MLS Cup final.
