It wasn’t that long ago that Dilly Duka was the face of the next wave of talent rising through the Crew’s ranks. His full-page action photo in the final printed media guide introduces the 2012 roster, which came after he featured prominently for the United States’ U-23 team.
Now in his seventh Major League Soccer season, Duka has made 10 appearances in his second stint with the team. Nobody in uniform or on the sideline remains from his rookie season of 2010, and his on-field role has also changed. After making a name on the left wing, Duka capably filled in for Federico Higuain as the Crew’s central attacking midfielder Saturday in a 4-1 win at Orlando City.
