After nearly a year of struggles, confusion, rumors court cases, you name it, Columbus Crew SC is not going anywhere. It was announced today that the first team in Major League Soccer history will remain in Columbus, Ohio under new ownership.
The team was purchased by Jimmy Haslam, owner of the Cleveland Browns who will keep the team in Columbus. From what Massive Report has learned, there were at least two ownership groups interested in purchasing the rights to operate the MLS club in Columbus and there will be a local minority investor as well.
