Lucas Zelarayan certainly didn’t think he would have to deal with a lot of the stuff he did in his first season with the Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer. A global pandemic and repeated injuries were part of the adversities the 28-year-old Argentinean had to face in his initial year in Central Ohio.
While the interrupted season denied the team’s new playmaker the much-needed continuity he was looking for after leaving a strong impression in the first two matches of the year back in March, the compressed schedule and a handful of injuries limited the time the Argentinean was on the field.
