With the Columbus Crew SC playing three games in eight days, many of the players returned from their loan stints to the senior team. JJ Williams played a single game for Birmingham Legion FC. Luis Argudo and Jon Kempin played a midweek game for the Hartford Athletic before coming back to Columbus.
Aboubakar Keita made his pro debut with a substitute appearance for the Richmond Kickers. The defender was slotted in at left back along a five-man backline as the Kickers nursed a 1-0 lead.
Alex Crognale extended his run of strong play, starting twice for Indy Eleven’s backline.
