The strange, short, tenure Emil Larsen in Columbus is over. Crew SC announced that they are transferring the midfielder to Lyngby in his native Denmark.
Larsen arrived on a free transfer in January after a stint with Odense. He was expected to provide competition at all three attacking midfield spots, but he never was able to get into the rotation. He struggled to get minutes and only made three league appearances for 31 minutes. He added another 110 minutes in two appearances in the Open Cup.
After a sometimes tumultuous relationship with fans and management in previous stops, Larsen was a model citizen publicly despite not able to get on the field, a frustrating situation.
