The playoff push ended without the Columbus Crew on the field late Wednesday in Portland. The Black & Gold return to the field tonight playing for pride in what turned out to be a dismal season against the second place team in the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia Union.
With the playoffs out of reach, the team still has a few things to play for. There’s pride, of course, but several players are playing for 2020. Wil Trapp has been a healthy scratch from the first XI the last two games in place of David Guzman. Gyasi Zardes has started the last four games, only getting a midweek break in August.
