Barely a month after shipping an international slot to Montreal for $175,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM), Columbus Crew SC has sold another international roster spot to the Los Angeles Galaxy for another $175,000. In this deal, the Crew will receive $100,000 in GAM and $75,000 in Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).
Each Major League Soccer team starts the season with eight international roster slots which are occupied by players who are not United States citizens, do not hold a green card, do not hold a special status (like refugee or asylum status) and do not qualify as an International Homegrown player.
