Kamara's senior career kicked off in 2006 at Stabæk with a brief loan to Hønefoss in 2007. He didn't find his footing until he transferred to Strømsgodset in 2009. He broke through with back to back double digit goal seasons in 2011 and 2012.
He scoring prowess earned him a transfer to Austrian Bundesliga team SV Ried, but he was loaned out to German second division team 1860 München for half a season, failing to find the net.
