The 2016 Trillium Cup will be decided in the final meeting of the year between Columbus Crew SC and Toronto FC at BMO Field. The first two matches between the two Eastern Conference rival have resulted in draws.
If the third meeting is again a draw, the Trillium Cup would come down to a very complicated series of tiebreakers.
While any trophy is a positive, both sides are focused on moving up in the Major League Soccer standings. Crew SC is near the bottom of the Eastern Conference with just 19 points from 20 matches and playoff hopes are beginning to slip away.
