Monsters rolling, clinch home ice advantage

The Lake Erie Monsters were not satisfied with simply qualifying for the Calder Cup playoffs.

It’s a testament to the club’s growth; prior to the Blue Jackets coming on board as their American Hockey League affiliate this season, the Monsters had only one postseason berth in franchise history. They’re back for a second go-round in 2016, thanks in large part to significant contributions from several Blue Jackets prospects.

When they clinched a postseason berth a week ago, the Monsters were teetering between third and fourth place in the Central Division but had their sights set higher – they wanted home ice advantage.
