The San Jose Sharks started the season as one of the league’s surprise teams, going 5-1-0 out of the gate and getting exquisite goaltending from Martin Jones, their offseason acquisition to replace Antti Niemi.
After the hot start, they cooled off a bit and went through some adversity with a long-term injury to Logan Couture, one of the offensive leaders of their club and a bright young player. Couture’s injury occurred in practice, and the Sharks got some good news recently when Couture did some light skating in practice.
With a long road trip winding down, the Sharks have an opportunity to put together a perfect 6-0 trip for the first time ever.
