Deja vu? Pretty much. That sums up what happened last night when the Columbus Blue Jackets took on the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena.
Matt Murray made 25 saves and the Penguins beat the Blue Jackets 3-0.
Pittsburgh scored the games’ first in the first period, on their first power play, and converting soon after it started, just 18 seconds in. Phil Kessel’s goal broke a 17-game drought, dating back to Jan. 30 against the Lightning. On the scoring play, Joonas Korpisalo was down in the crease after Patric Hornqvist made contact with the goaltender, but nothing to convince the officials to overturn the result on John Tortorella’s challenge.
