What makes Vitaly Abramov’s situation interesting is the NHL-CHL agreement. Because of this, Abramov must either return to the QMJHL or play with the Columbus Blue Jackets this season. Despite playing four professional games last season, he is not eligible to play in the AHL to start the year.
Returning to the Gatineau Olympiques, his QMJHL team, wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, but it would be nice to see how he would do in a full AHL season.
The only knock on Vitaly Abramov is his size.
