COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed forward Jordan Maletta to a three-year entry level contract, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Maletta, 20, posted 34 goals and 25 assists for 59 points with 55 penalty minutes, a +10 plus/minus rating and 17 multi-point games in 68 outings with the Ontario Hockey League’s Niagara IceDogs this season. His career-high 34 goals led the club and ranked 19th in the OHL. He also set career highs in points and plus/minus, while leading the club in games played (tied), game-winning goals (seven, eighth in OHL) and shorthanded goals (two) and ranking second in power play goals (nine), third in points and fifth in assists.
