COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed defenseman Oleg Yevenko to a one-year, two-way contract (NHL/AHL) for the 2015-16 season, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Yevenko, 24, appeared in two preseason games with the Blue Jackets, collecting seven penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating before joining the Lake Erie Monsters, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, on September 26. He registered five assists with 51 penalty minutes in 36 games while serving as an alternate captain in his senior campaign at the University of Massachusetts (Hockey East) in 2014-15.
