Blue Jackets, Nationwide Arena announce new security procedures for 2015-16 NHL season

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets and Nationwide Arena announced today the introduction of new security procedures for guests attending Blue Jackets games. In an effort to deliver a smooth and thorough patron screening experience, walk-through metal detectors will be utilized at entrances to all National Hockey League arenas effective with the 2015-16 NHL season. Fans attending the Blue Jackets vs. Pittsburgh Penguins preseason-opening game at Nationwide Arena on Monday, September 21 will be the first hockey crowd to experience these new protocols.

“This new policy is in line with what has become an industry standard across MLB, NBA and NFL venues and we’re happy to comply with any enhancement aimed at improving customer convenience and safety,” said Blue Jackets Vice President of Communications & Team Services Todd Sharrock.
