Blue Jackets assign center Michael Chaput to Lake Erie Monsters (AHL)


COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned center Michael Chaput to Cleveland’s Lake Erie Monsters, Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Chaput, 23, scored a goal and collected five penalty minutes with a +2 plus/minus rating in three games with Columbus after being recalled on November 30. In 19 games with Lake Erie this season, he has tallied 6-4-10 with four penalty minutes with an “even” plus/minus rating. The Ile Bizard, Quebec native has posted 2-5-7 and 28 penalty minutes in 53 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, including 1-4-5 in 33 games in 2014-15.
