Shaw, 52, has spent the past 10 years with the St. Louis Blues, serving as an assistant coach from 2006-12 and associate coach from 2012-16. During his tenure in St. Louis, he helped the club to six appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the past eight years, including the past five seasons, and a berth in the Western Conference Final in 2015-16.
“Brad Shaw is a smart, experienced coach who is very well-respected in the coaching community and is going to be a great asset to our club, particularly our defensemen,” said Tortorella. “He is a solid hockey guy who will fit in extremely well with our staff and I’m really looking forward to working with him.
