With the 12th pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, the Columbus Blue Jackets selected forward Cole Sillinger, from the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL.
This pick was acquired earlier in the evening from the Chicago Blackhawks as part of the Seth Jones trade, and in exchange for the final pick of the first round.
Sillinger is a familiar name in Columbus, as his father Mike played for the Blue Jackets for two seasons from 2001-2003. Cole was actually born here in Columbus.
Sillinger Pere averaged 43 points in his two seasons here, while Sillinger Fils scored 46 points in 31 games in the USHL last season.
