For a few moments Sunday night, it looked like Ryun Williams and the Colorado State women would pull a first-round upset over Utah State at the Mountain West women's tournament. But the Aggies started the fourth quarter with an 11-0 run and avoided a late charge from CSU, beating the Rams 62-59.
A Mollie Mounsey 3-pointer in the final minute of the third quarter put the Rams up 38-37, but their offensive woes continued to begin the final frame. Despite falling into to a double-digit deficit, CSU clawed back in the final minutes. Grace Colaivalu made an and-1 with 30 seconds remaining to pull within one, and Mounsey drilled another triple with 11 ticks left to make it 60-59.
