Nico Carvacho can only do so much. In a road matchup against Long Beach State on Saturday afternoon, his 23-point, 22-rebound performance wasn't enough for the Rams, who lost to the 49ers 64-61.
Outside of Carvacho, CSU struggled mightily on offense, evidenced most by their 22 turnovers. Despite entering the contest averaging only 10.7 giveaways per game, they exceeded that with 11 in the first half alone as sloppy play prevented the Rams from fully settling into a grove.
Perhaps most disheartening for Niko Medved and company, many of the turnovers arose simply from careless play rather than stifling defense, and their impact was felt all the way down to the closing possessions of the game.
