FORT COLLINS — Colorado State opened its new stadium Saturday with all the expected pomp and circumstance.
The Rams' defense, however, was late to the party.
Technically, they started strong with a three-and-out on Oregon State's first series. But on the Beavers' next four possessions, the Rams had trouble stopping the big play, allowing a pair of touchdowns and a field goal while giving up an average of 8.4 yards a snap.
The biggest blows came on a 39-yard scoring reception by Timmy Hernandez and a 75-yard run by Ryan Nall, providing coach Mike Bobo's team an early test to see if they had improved on an area of concern.
