BOISE, Idaho — The notion was there, but it seemed rather faint.
Then, sparked by the fuel of being in a desperate situation, the dream of an upset was once again alive on the Colorado State sideline. As improbable as the moment seemed when the Rams trailed the No. 15 team in the nation 28-3 in the fourth quarter, it was all so real.
Surreal, actually, in the way the final 5 minutes unfolded.
But Colorado State's dreams of a major upset were washed away in the middle of it all thanks to a rush of Jeremy McNichols' carries Saturday night, as the Boise State running back — held in check in the first two quarters — exploded with a mix of workhorse and thoroughbred in a 28-23 victory at Albertsons Stadium.
