Running back Deron Thompson leaves Colorado State football, track

Deron Thompson, a sophomore running back with Colorado State football and track, saw his career come to a close recently.

Thompson, who has two years of eligibility remaining, is transferring from CSU to Kansas per the Coloradoan. He played in six games as a freshman, including an 11-carry, 68-yard game against Hawaii. But, last year, Thompson saw action in only one game, rushing six times for 47 yards with Mike Bobo as the team’s head coach.

In track, Thompson and his teammates finished fourth in the 4x100M relay, and he came in 19th at the New Mexico Team Invitational in the 60M dash.
