FORT COLLINS — A four-game win streak entering the week had suddenly given the Colorado State women's basketball team a realistic chance at yet another regular season conference title.
The Rams entered Wednesday two back in the loss column of first-place UNLV with six games to go, a challenging but not impossible climb to make. But with two teams in between the Rams and Rebels (Wyoming and Fresno State), CSU has little to no room for error in its quest for a fifth straight Mountain West championship.
To give themselves even a shot at defending their crown, Ryun Williams' team couldn't afford to stumble at home against last-place Air Force, a team CSU almost lost to last month.
