Preston Hodges, Blake Nowland leave Colorado State football program

FORT COLLINS — Colorado State's football roster has dwindled by two more players since the end of spring practice with the departures of offensive lineman Blake Nowland and senior defensive back Preston Hodges.

CSU assistant athletic director for communications Paul Kirk confirmed the removal of both players from the roster, but said with coaches out of the office at this time, the school would have no comment on either.

Nowland, a junior from Castle Rock, missed all of last season with a broken leg after appearing in three contests as a redshirt freshman the year before.

Hodges' departure eliminates more experience from a secondary unit that lost three starters to graduation at the end of last season.
