FORT COLLINS — In its second game without leading scorer Gian Clavell, who's lost for the season with a broken hand and shoulder injury, Colorado State leaned on its supporting cast to play major roles in Monday night's 89-61 romp over South Carolina Upstate.
True freshman Prentiss Nixon (16 points), redshirt freshman J.D. Paige (15), sophomore JUCO transfer Kimani Jackson (10) and even redshirt freshman Toby Van Ry (two) had career scoring nights for the Rams (7-5), who snapped their five-game losing streak against Division I opposition.
Yet, those weren't even CSU's highest scorers as Antwan Scott (Clavell's replacement in the starting lineup) led all players with 20 points while Emmanuel Omogbo had 17.
