A supposed strength for the Colorado State basketball team has been a glaring weakness the last two games.
The Rams pride themselves on beating the opposition on the glass, but offensive rebounds have cost them dearly now in back-to-back losses, both of which were very winnable contests.
After giving up 15 offensive rebounds and 15 second-chance points in a last-second loss at home to Loyola Marymount on Monday, CSU was minus-11 (56-45) on the glass in a 56-55 loss at Long Beach State on Thursday night.
Considering the Rams mounted a furious rally after starting the night not being able to do much of anything offensively, CSU coach Larry Eustachy, who was coaching against his alma mater, was much more pleased with his team's effort than he was after blowing a 10-point lead with nine minutes to go three days earlier.
