The Colorado Sports Hall of Fame named CSU senior guard Ellen Nystrom the 2016 college female athlete of the year on Tuesday, adding to the Swede's growing list of accolades.
Nystrom was named the Mountain West player of the year last season after leading the Rams to an undefeated conference record (18-0), a third straight regular season conference title and a 31-2 mark overall.
Nystrom averaged 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game as a junior, helping CSU reach the NCAA Tournament and the AP Top 25 for the first time since 2002.
