New Mexico topples CSU women during senior day

With the opportunity to ride some momentum from a near upset over Boise State into Saturday's senior day bout against New Mexico, Colorado State women's basketball lost its footing in a 79-56 defeat.

The Rams never led in the contest and were only tied for the opening seven seconds of action to the second-place Lobos. Though CSU shot a respectable 43 percent from the field and 35 percent from beyond the arc, the Lobos forced 15 turnovers which they converted into 17 points. They also bested the hosts from the floor (46 percent) while knocking down five more 3-pointers.
