FORT COLLINS — After four years of hearing the same voice, the special teams units had to adjust to a new tone presented by Jamie Bryant at Colorado State. Bryant and the players had 15 practices in the spring to get to know each other, with the focus being on the basics.
There were some tweaks, for sure, but entering fall camp an understanding had been built, as well as a trust, and a secure feeling in knowing the main pillars that made the units successful last year wasn't going to crumble under a new coach.
"I like what Coach Bryant brings to the table," junior safety Jake Schlager, a special teams standout in the past, said.
