Mountain West stands by controversial call in CSU-Boise State game

FORT COLLINS — Colorado State beat Boise State 97-93 in a double-overtime thriller Wednesday night at Moby Arena. But all the conversation following the game was about a controversial call made at the end of the first overtime.

With 0.8 seconds left and the game tied at 74, Boise State's James Webb III received an inbound pass, turned and launched a 3-pointer that banked in off the glass for what everyone thought was an incredible buzzer-beating game-winner.

But after a lengthy review, officials determined that the game clock didn't start exactly when Webb initially touched the ball, allowing him a few extra tenths of a second to get off his shot in time.
