The Mountain West on Friday confirmed what everyone suspected on Thursday: that James Webb III's last-second shot in overtime Wednesday should have counted.
Unfortunately for Boise State fans, Colorado State's subsequent 97-93 double-overtime win still stands, though, as the NCAA does not allow the result of games to be overturned.
In Friday's follow-up statement, the conference confirmed there was indeed a discrepancy between the digital stopwatch embedded in the video replay used by officials to make the final ruling and the actual game clock — something widely discovered after the league released the clip Thursday.
