FORT COLLINS — Long before Colorado State was boycotting practice and going through its third different head coach in the span of four games, Larry Eustachy talked openly about the need for college coaches like himself to change their approach in order to better connect with today's student-athletes.
How much the 62-year-old head coach listened to his own advice is unclear, especially since the university's two-week-long "climate assessment" of Eustachy's program is still ongoing.
During an interview following the Rams' first practice of the season back on Oct. 13, 207, Eustachy discussed his thoughts on being labeled an old-school coach and about how much the coaching profession has changed over the years.
