Junior wideout's time to shine a Long time coming

FORT COLLINS — Recruiting provided a challenge on the field, but the first one to be met was between the ears.

Sammie Long IV had to fight himself a bit to put him in a position to challenge others, a lesson he really started to learn last year from a rather prominent teammate.

"A mentality. Always wanting to be No. 1, competing at any level, no matter who it is," Long said. "Good competition, bad competition, you've got to make yourself better. And just the thought of getting better everyday.
